Department for Administrative Matters and Register - Competences

The Department for Administrative Matters and Register is responsible for:
a) Matters concerning religious communities, except for those falling under the competence of Department of Ecclesiastical Administration and Department of Islamic Affairs;
b) The supervision of the Central Board of Jewish Communities in Greece, the Organization for the Welfare and Rehabilitation of Greek Jews, and the Jewish Communities;
c) The supervision of other religious communities;
d) The granting of permits for the construction of places of worship for all the above religions and denominations, and their supervision;
e) The granting of permits for the establishment and operation of places of worship for all the above religions and denominations, and their supervision;
f) The approval of the relocation of places of worship or changes to their name;
g) The approval of the replacement of religious ministers;
h) The operation of a Register of religious communities, licensed places of worship, and religious ministers;
i) The handling of any other related matter.
